Prior to having kids I ‘had it all’.
Big salary, nice house, phat holidays, fast car... the plan was to save like crazy and on our 3rd year wedding anniversary start trying for a baby.
She arrived in 2014 and once diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia she quickly went from the 1 in 10, to the 1 in a 1,000 to the 1 in a 1,000,000 who just couldn’t seem to heal without surgery.
1 pavlik harness, 2 surgeries and 2 casts later we decided that I would return to work full time and that he would take shared paternity leave (the first at his company) to do the heavy lifting.
It was a very very very difficult time. But you get on with it. You have to.
Fast forward 2 years and she is fit and healthy and we decided to go for baby number 2. I had missed so much the first time and I wanted to be at home - but still work - with baby number 2. However my employer was not up for it - so I left and tried to find something to suit my skills.
I wanted something I could do from home - but nothing seemed to be out there other than MLM - not a PAYE position in sight.
Well hopefully not anymore. I’m on the rampage!
I created Mummyjobs.co.uk & Daddyjobs.co.uk as a place that employers can showcase the flexible and agile roles to mums and dads seeking Flexible Working.
We are holding talks, seminars, events and ongoing advertising campaigns encouraging employers across the UK to promote their Flexible PAYE roles with great success!
