Strategy Director – Corporate A highly autonomous and senior level role within Manchester Airport Group Competitive Package MAG Employing over 6,500 people, the Group owns and operates three of the UK’s most important airports: Manchester, London Stansted and East Midlands Airport. The Group also has over £640m of investment property assets across its three airports and has a 50% investment in the £800m major Enterprise Zone development, Airport City, at Manchester. The Role This is a key senior role within the business, reporting directly to the Chief Strategy Officer. The role will span across all areas of the business and interact with all key Directors. The central purpose of the role is to drive the development of MAG’s corporate strategy and value creation from leverage and cost efficiency opportunity, through research, analysis, innovation and strategic thinking. This will involve driving forward MAG’s long-term business and operational strategies, from the overall strategic framework and from the corporate strategy, including support and challenge. Using previous relevant experience, the post holder will create and manage various strategic processes and frameworks and be in the front line in their development. Responsibilities High-level work to identify the value-creation direction of travel from the corporate strategy and its component business strategies. Drive forward processes that help MAG realise that value, including establishing an appropriate project and programme management. A key part of the role will be senior interaction from several different business areas, working at Director level across aviation, customer, IT and assets Drive and continually evolve and improve MAG’s strategic framework. Develop MAG’s group and corporate strategy, identifying and pursuing value-creation opportunities and present this to Exco and Board. Support and challenge MAG business and operational strategies. Communicate and socialise MAG’s strategic work across and between the SLT population. Support the Group Strategy Director in the broader role. Develop and drive key strategic initiatives, including leading in programme and project management. Candidate PhD-level or equivalent, with at least 5-7 years previous experience in a senior commercial and decision-making role Ideally, you will have previously been in a strategic position; although soft skills, ability and evidence of previous success are equally important.
