Prior to having kids I ‘had it all’.
Big salary, Nice house, Phat holidays, Fast car... the plan was to save like crazy and on our 3rd year wedding anniversary start trying for a baby.
She arrived in 2014 and once diagnosed with Hip Dysplasia she quickly went from the 1 in 10, to the 1 in a 1,000 to the 1 in a 1,000,000 who just couldn’t seem to heal without surgery.
1 pavlik harness, 2 surgeries and 2 casts later we decided that I would return to work full time and that he would take shared paternity leave (the first at his company) to do the heavy lifting.
It was a very very very difficult time. But you get on with it. You have too.
Fast forward 2 years and she is fit and healthy and we decided to go for baby number 2. I had missed so much the first time and I wanted to be at home - but still work - with baby number 2, but my employer was not up for it - so I left and tried to find something to suit my skills that I could do from home - but nothing seemed to be out there other than MLM - not a PAYE position in sight.
Well hopefully not anymore. I’m on the rampage! I created Mummyjobs.co.uk & Daddyjobs.co.uk as a place that employers can showcase the flexible and agile roles to mums and dads seeking #FlexibleWorking.
We are holding talks, seminars, events and ongoing advertising campaigns encouraging employers across the UK to promote their Flexible PAYE roles with great success!
So if you’re a mum or dad on the rocky road to returning, we are here to help - to job search, help with your CV and Interview techniques, to provide training and coaching to get you back to where you want to be, in a role as flexible as you want!
