Accounts Payable & Banking Services Manager – (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location:  Fareham (other locations will be considered, however the job holder will need to be available to be in the office as and when required)

The opportunity: 

As part of UK Finance Operatuons, you will manage the Accounts Payable and Banking teams to achieve its operational objectives and ensure the team deliveres a high quality and cost effectie service to its customers.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Strong stakeholder management required, and a focus on continuously developing business relationships and be the trusted advisor
  • Act as point of contact for all stakeholders for financial matters, acting as a conduit between Finance Operations and stakeholders
  • Managing the UK Banking teams and ensuring all payments are efficiently made across P&C and Life while adhering to robust controls.
  • Be the main contact for all our Banking and payment suppliers.
  • Leading the Accounts Payable team to ensure all supplier invoices and employee expenses are actioned and paid in a timely manner.
  • Managing the UK admin team and ensuring all admin tasks are completed.
  • Deliver financial results as per defined KPI targets. Setting new & challenging team targets on a changing basis.
  • Ensuring BPO targets are attained and any issues resolved.
  • Complex query management, and escalation point for sensitive cases
  • Accountable for supporting and driving strategic initiatives aligned with business partners and the Global Finance Operations objectives, working closely with others to add value
  • Ensure robust controls are implemented and operating effectively to comply with Internal Controls Framework, ICFR and audit requirements.
  • Responsible for driving the transformation of the team implementing a culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage staff performance, training and development
  • Identify, manage and control resource requirements – including recruitment of staff
  • Lead the Team to achieve targets and ultimately operational goals to timetable
  • To effectively grow the departmental brand
  • Promote positive customer and supplier perception
  • Maintain working relationships across business to ensure delivery through key stakeholders, managing dependencies
  • Supports the development of high level and detailed project plans, collaborating with cross-functional areas to ensure timelines, resources and deliverables are established and executed upon; addresses risks and issues and escalates as appropriate
  • Your skills and experience:

  • At least 3 years supervisory experience leading an Accounts Payable or Banking team in a similar operational environment / regulated.
  • Good knowledge of relevant legislation and regulatory requirements and experience within a Finance Operations function or a relevant business context.
  • Good knowledge of Lean, six sigma or similar continuous improvement methodologies.
