Business Intelligence Developer

As a Business Intelligence Developer at Unipart Logistics you will design, develop and support BI solutions that will aid evidence based decisions, process and efficiency improvement, and customer satisfaction. By understanding the business, you will gather customer requirements and translate them into solution specifications and develop the resulting solutions. In addition to handling incoming requests, you will proactively identify risks and opportunities within the data and communicate findings to the business using the appropriate medium.

Business Intelligence Developer Responsibilities:

• You will put the customer at the heart of every decision.
• Gather customer requirements from key stakeholders
• Create technical documentation, including specifications, test plans and final solution documentation
• Develop BI solutions in line with specification
• Improve efficiencies on operational activities by designing, developing and delivering effective BI
• Regularly communicate progress and recommendations
• Provide a consultancy service to the customer to maximise the benefit derived from BI solutions

Business Intelligence Developer Requirements:

• IT related degree or equivalent level of experience and intellect
• Ability to interrogate and analyse large data sets
• Google applications (mail, calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
• Ability to accurately estimate the time and effort involved in tasks
• Excellent time management
• Experience of working within a Logistics, Supply Chain, FMCG or Retail environment
• Experience of BI visualisation tools (e.g. Cognos, Business Objects, Qlik, Power BI, Microsoft Sequel Server)
• Development methodology, in particular agile working
• Understanding of data modelling methodology
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
