Capability and Development Coordinator

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) is an independent Government department set up by an Act of Parliament in 2000 to protect the public's health and consumer interests in relation to food. Our remit includes removing unsafe food from sale, ensuring good food and meat hygiene, responsibility for ensuring EU legislation reflects the interest of UK customers, and ensuring an evidence-based approach to all of our work.

The FSA faces a significant period of change and activity following the UK’s exit from the EU, so we must ensure we have the right capability in order to deliver our priorities. The Capability and Development Coordinator role sits within the high-profile FSA People and Organisational Change team presenting an exciting opportunity to support the development and implementation of the Agency’s approach to capability, learning and development across the Agency. Reporting to the Capability and Development Manager, the Capability and Development Coordinator supports the Capability and Development Team by working closely with HR Business Partners, colleagues across People and Organisational Change and other divisions, the FSA’s network of Learning Advocates, and colleagues across the government HR function.

Job description

The Capability and Development Coordinator will help to deliver key elements of the overarching People Strategy, linking with People and OC colleagues to ensure delivery of both corporate and business-area related learning and development interventions to improve organisational effectiveness, consistency of approach, return on investment (ROI) and value for money.
