We are looking to recruit Day and Night Care Assistants in the brand new development of the Speedwell Court who can demonstrate compassion and empathy in their approach to caring for older people, either through previous roles in social care or in other roles.

Location: Abbeyfield Speedwell Court, Mansbridge Road, West End, Southampton, Hampshire, SO18 3HW
Salary: £9.25 to £9.85 depending on experience
Hours: Full Time, Day and Night Shifts

About the role:

Speedwell Court not only provides residential care but also welcomes residents with dementia. We have designed the home to meet the individual needs of residents and improve quality of life.

The role of a Care Assistant involves creating an atmosphere that is warm and welcoming, ensuring that every resident enjoys life with us to the full. Duties will include providing assistance to residents with their personal care to include washing, dressing and assisting residents in all aspects of their daily lives as required.

About you:

Previous experience for this role is not essential as you will receive on the job support and training. Upon commencement, Care Assistants must be willing to undertake training to achieve NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent.

The ideal candidate will be able to communicate and interact well with people, be comfortable working as part of a team and can empathise and understand the needs of older people.
