Food Service Assistant Needed!! – Contract Catering – Horsley, Surrey - £8.68 per hour

We’re recruiting for a Catering Assistant for an Education site near Horsley.  We are looking for a passionate person with all-round experience as this is a hands on role where you will be involved in helping in the kitchen with food preparation and serving/clearing and cleaning.


Term time – working as part of a team catering for approx. 500 lunches and also helping with Breakfast Club, pupil teas, sports teas, School functions etc. Duties include receiving, checking and storage of deliveries; food preparation; food service; washing up; cleaning equipment, catering areas and Dining Room as is necessary.


School holidays – working alone, preparing, cooking and reheating convenience type foods for lunch and tea for approx. 25 Nursery pupils and support staff.


Profile – Needs to be polite, professional and friendly with customers, client and colleagues and be prepared to assist in a willing and positive manner including assisting with other duties as required. Of smart appearance (uniform provided).

Carry out all relevant statutory training as required by both Compass Group and the School in order to meet legal requirements for fire, safety, health and hygiene.


Shift Patterns:


Term time: 9.00am -17.30 - 7.5 hours (includes half hour unpaid break)

                                     Mon-Fri  39.4 weeks (includes 4 weeks paid holiday)


School holidays:  9.00 – 14.30 -5 hours (includes half hour unpaid break)

                               Mon–Fri 10 weeks
