The Valuation Office Agency (VOA) are the public sector’s property valuation experts and advisers, helping businesses and people pay the right property taxes and receive the right financial support.

We value millions of UK properties and our valuations underpin more than £50 billion of local government taxation, which is collected by local authorities. Accountable to the Financial Secretary to the Treasury, the VOA is a national organisation operating from 49 locations across England, Wales and Scotland. We employ around 3,600 people and is one of the largest employers of chartered surveyors in the UK.

We are looking for a Surveying Professional and outstanding leader to lead 350 people across the Chief Valuer Group and be a vital part of the Agency’s Executive Committee contributing to the corporate leadership, strategic direction and management of the VOA.
As the Chief Valuer, you will be accountable for delivering high quality technical and valuation standards for the business rates revaluation in 2021 and three yearly revaluations thereafter.

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant difference to VOA and through our work, provide funds for essential public services. You will lead highly committed and highly skilled teams and be a key player in VOA’s Executive Committee.
A Property Specialist in your own right, you will play a key leadership role in the Government Property Profession feeding in to the wider agenda to build excellent capacity and capability in the property profession across Government.

To be successful in this role you must have a track record of being a strategic leader with a breadth of experience gained whilst working in large scale, complex, professional organisations.
