Claims Technical Consultant (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location: Flexible

The opportunity: 

Due to growth we are currently looking to expand our team with an experienced Claims Technical Consultant. You will provide expertise to develop and support delivery of a flexible and focussed oversight model. As well as maintain the protection claims philosophy and ensure it is implemented and maintained in all operational Claims Teams working within the UK.

This role will provide you a number of varied stakeholders both internally and externally. You will have oversight of the teams within Zurich as well as outsourced suppliers. You will complete quality sampling and manage some of our most complex claims.

The team are based in Swindon so it would be great if this is commutable for you in the future however we are flexible to consider remote workers for the role.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time. Please talk to us at interview about the flexibility you may need.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To support the development and delivery of a flexible and focused oversight model, reacting and adjusting to claims experience and identified trends
  • Provide feedback to claims teams, good case studies and good claims management and report on oversight findings
  • Help develop, maintain & communicate claims philosophies
  • Provide technical claims expertise to our operational claims team and other areas of the business
  • Take ownership of difficult and complex claims issues
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge of systems, products, processes and procedures in the claims environment
  • Contribute to company-wide projects that require claims input, including product developments when required
  • Promote positive customer perceptions, continuously developing customer relationships aligned to brand values and treating customers fairly
  • Influence the proactive claims management of Protection death, Income Protection, Critical Illness, Waiver of Premium and Fracture claims
  • Share knowledge and expertise with other team members, identify training needs within the claims teams and ensure appropriate training is delivered
  • Able to liaise effectively with reassurance partners
  • Your skills and experience:

    You will already have a high level of claims experience covering all areas of death, critical illness, income protection and fracture from within individual and/or corporate markets. You’ll naturally have excellent verbal and written communication skills alongside prioritisation skills and a collaborative team player. You’ll fit in with our culture and truly be customer obsessed putting the customer at the heart of all that you do with empathy and compassion during some of their most difficult times.
