At Northern, we play a vital role across the North by providing a reliable and friendly train service that connects hundreds of thousands of people to work, leisure, education and more. Our customers trust us with over 2,300 services every weekday, and we travel to almost 550 destinations. But our vision is about more than just train travel. Somewhere we can work together, have fun, and get stuck in to making our customers lives easier. A place that goes out of its way to create incredible opportunities for everyone to grow, and be the best we can be every single day. So, if you're smart, forward thinking, passionate and full of fresh ideas like we are, you could play your part in making it happen.

As Depot Performance Analyst, you'll play an important role in our depot by analysing technical incidents, collating the data to produce trends and reports and to display the data in a simple way that's easy to understand. You'll keep accurate and up to date records of all delays and support both our depot teams and our Fleet Improvement Engineers. And you'll present the data you collect daily, weekly and by period at performance meetings and daily depot meetings, while using it to help reduce the number of technical incidents. To join the team you'll need a proven background as an analyst. You'll also need a good understanding of - or be willing to learn - a range of lean tools and techniques. These include Problem Solving (5 Why, Point of Cause, Direct Cause and Root Cause Analysis), 7 Quality Tools for data analysis, Visual Management, Visual Controls and A3 Reporting. You don't need specific engineering experience but some knowledge of train rolling stock, Train Operating Companies and Industry Partners, and an understanding of operational planning and performance in the context of the rail industry would be useful, but not essential.
