Deputy Director, Service Delivery

Location

If successful you will be based in Newcastle. Frequent travel to London/Manchester and Leeds will be required for this role.

Summary

We deliver a wide and complex range of recruitment services to a very diverse range of government departments, agencies, and non-departmental public bodies, filling around 50,000 vacancies from entry-level through to senior executives across every profession and sector.

We are also called upon to provide strategic- and thought-leadership for recruitment and screening, for and on behalf of the UK government.

Job description

- Provide visible and engaging leadership both within the service, and across the wider environment of Government Automation and Business Services and Civil Service departments and agencies.

- Own the development and delivery of all aspects of the service, including the service menu, people capability, capacity planning, supplier management, and customer relationship management.

- Drive a significant programme of change and growth, within a culture of ‘continuous improvement’ at all levels.

- Keeping up to date with recruitment best practice, advancements and ethics.

- Setting the direction for improved recruitment process delivery and contributing to the overarching recruitment transformation strategy.

Responsibilities

Essential skills/experience;

- Highly credible recruitment professional with the ability to lead a team of generalist and specialist recruiters.

- Strong track record of delivering recruitment and screening services in a complex, regulated, and politically- sensitive environment.

- Leadership of a large and geographically- dispersed team during periods of critical business delivery and corporate change.

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.

- Be an effective networker and influencer, with a clear understanding of how our wider relationships across Government are central to driving lasting behavioural change and a step-change in recruitment.

- Be comfortable working with ambiguity and resilient when working closely with customers and senior stakeholders, able to build trust and long lasting relationships.

- Demonstrate persistence, achieving success by delivering despite obstacles, difficulties or setbacks.
