The Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) is the estate expert for Defence, supporting the armed forces to enable military capability by planning, building, maintaining, and servicing infrastructure.

Our responsibilities include:
• Plan and deliver major capital projects and lifecycle refurbishment
• Provide utilities services
• Manage soft facilities management (i.e. cleaning and catering)
• Provide a safe place to train
• Allocate Service Families Accommodation
• Procure and manage routine maintenance and reactive repair
• Provide a central register of asset information to advise infrastructure planning
• Act as steward of the Defence estate
• Provide the unarmed guarding service

We employ approximately 4,900 staff from a very diverse range of professions including head office functions and specialisms such as surveyors, town planners, airfield pavement experts, foresters and construction engineers. We work across the world; in Germany, Cyprus and the Falkland Islands, Norway, Poland, Kenya, Belize, Nepal and Oman.

Job description

This role provides a great opportunity and places you at the heart delivery with the necessary support to drive change and improvement to delivery to enhance the lived experience and lived environment for service personnel by delivering good quality accommodation. Although the position will be demanding with overnight travel to support the team and manage maintenance delivery in support of 15000 Service Family Accommodation across the South East. it will provide an excellent opportunity to test use your full scope of positive behaviours and widen your experience on how we deliver for Defence.
 

Responsibilities

• Manage delivery of statutory and mandatory compliance and response maintenance service for 15,000 SFA.
• Manage a team of 28 staff
• Manage a budget of £9m
• Manage regional service delivery through a combination Housing Service Maintenance contracts, through NGEC, PFI, and Bulk Lease Hire and future FDIS delivery contracts.
• Deliver critical stakeholder engagement, driving improvement to the Lived Experienced
• Supporting staff to deliver an ambitious program
• Manage a diverse housing portfolio
• Promote a collaborative approach to delivery

Travel Requirements

Driving to meetings and overnight travel will be required.

Essential Experience

Knowledge of management principles and operational delivery.
