About the Role

Here at Babcock International we're looking for an Early Careers Business Partner to join us at our offices in Keynsham, near Bristol. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in the UK and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.

The Babcock Naval Nuclear Early Careers Centre of Expertise is responsible for ensuring that the correct mix of new talent is brought into the organisation at the Devonport & Keynsham sites to support our future growth requirements. The Early Careers Business Partner will be a part of this Centre of Expertise and will report into the Early Careers Manager based at Devonport in Plymouth.

 

The main function of this particular role will be to support the development of the Early Careers function in the Keynsham/Bristol Submarine Support Engineering Team and to help ensure that they are able to meet their key strategic objective to be a valued and trusted partner to our customers. This team has been established to deliver the benefits of the Fresh Start Strategy across the Babcock Naval Nuclear sector which will introduce new ways of working to improve our service to the Submarine Enterprise.

In order to achieve this, we recognise that our people are critical to our success and the work we undertake must develop them in order to meet our obligations to our customer. This will entail developing new programmes to develop our Early Careers function in Bristol - this will include liaison with universities and local colleges The role will also involve managing the STEM engagement programme in support of the Early Careers strategy and for managing the development programmes for graduates and higher level business apprentices.

 

What do I need to do the role?

You'll be educated to A Level Standard or equivalent (level 3 of the national qualification framework) and preferably holding or working towards Chartered Membership of the CIPD and have GCSE level English & Maths (or equivalent)

We would also like you to have the following:
*Good knowledge of Early Careers development and recruitment practices including experience in identifying the most effective methods by which to develop and retain talent and shaping bespoke programmes to meet both business and individual needs
*Able to ensure that company policies, procedures and processes are developed, reviewed, updated and implemented as required.
*General knowledge of employment legislation

 

What else do I need to know?
*The post will be based in an environment regulated by Trade Control legislation and involve working with controlled goods, technology and/or services. You must be a sole UK national and hold current, active 'Security Check' (SC) or 'Developed Vetting' (DV) security clearance.
*This position is based in Keynsham, which is situated between Bristol (5 miles) and Bath (7 miles).
*The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. You must be a sole UK national and hold or be capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
