Uppingham School founded in 1584 is one of Britain’s leafing co-educational independent boarding schools, it is located in the small market town of Uppingham, amid the rolling fields of Rutland. 

Position: Electrician 
Location: Uppingham, Oakham (commutable from Corby, Peterborough, Leicester and surrounding areas) 
Job type: Full Time, Permanent 
Hours: 39 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. The hours are Monday to Thursday 830am to 5pm and Friday 830am to 4pm (with an hour for lunch). 
Salary: £25,000 to £28,000 per annum

About the role: 

We are currently seeking an experienced Electrician to work in a variety of modern, historic and Grade I and II listed buildings, playing a key role in the Maintenance Department of one of the leading schools in the UK. 

You will work proactively within a small team of Electricians including the Senior Electrician who overseas the day to day running of the team. You will deal with reactive requests, assist with installation works, deliver replacement and upgrade programmes and complete assigned planned maintenance tasks. 

Your primary tasks include: Daily / routine maintenance operations; Electrical installations and modifications; Breakdowns, fault finding, reporting and resolving issues; Refurbishment projects. 

About you: 

The ideal candidate will have an appropriate professional or trade accreditation, ability to diagnose faults and report faults accurately, practical knowledge and experience of electrical maintenance and be a self-motivated solution based player and able to work with minimum supervision.
