About the role
We're looking for an Employee Engagement Manager to join us at HMNB Devonport, one of the largest naval bases in Western Europe. We're a key strategic partner to our customers; the MOD and the Royal Navy. We ensure that the UK Royal Navy goes to sea safely by supporting them in Devonport and around the world, delivering complex ship and submarine sustainment programmes and applying our core strengths of technology and expertise to sustain critical and complex assets to help maintain national security.
As the Employee Engagement Manager you will deliver internal communications for Submarines South, with emphasis on genuine workforce engagement and providing counsel and support to facilitate leadership engagement.
You will have direct responsibility for communications, engagement channel management, publications and delivery of employee facing campaigns. You will report to the Programme Director - Submarines, with functional support and guidance provided by the Communications Business Partner, Devonport.
The successful candidate will be focused on project/ programme stakeholders, be of a robust nature and well organised to meet competitive demands. You will be required to deliver effective and creative campaigns as well as developing a culture of openness and transparent two-way engagement.
Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to operate in complex environments, and to deadlines/within time restrictions are critical to this role in order to develop and maintain effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders at all levels across Submarines South and its stakeholder groups.
What do I need to do the role?
You will be skilled in researching and writing engaging copy, optimised for use across a variety of communications channels, including websites, newsletters and printed formats.
*Proven track record of developing and sustaining communication plans and be able to demonstrate how they interface and support business strategies
*Experience in delivering employee engagement programmes
You will need a minimum of 5 GCSE's or equivalent at grade C or above including English it is desirable if you are educated to degree level or equivalent in an appropriate discipline
What else do I need to know?
The successful candidate will need to satisfy Ministry of Defence security requirements. This may require you to hold or be eligible/capable of achieving 'Security Check' (SC) clearance.
