Ministry of Defence
Executive Director, Service Delivery and Operations, Defence Digital
This is truly an exciting time to be part of Defence Digital inside the Ministry of Defence. Breath-taking technology capability arriving at unprecedented pace and Defence’s strategic intent to exploit it means that we play a critical role in an ambition to put modern digital capability at the heart of how we operate to create a winning advantage. This is driven by an underpinning premise that emerging digital technology, together with the effective capture, analysis and use of information, will enable transformative military and business performance.
To achieve our ambition requires a bold mindset that challenges the way we operate and to recognise that success requires fundamental change; it will not be achieved by just doing the same things better. We are seeking an Executive Director of Service Delivery and Operations to help us fulfil this ambition and with one of the UK’s largest digital transformational change programmes underway, you will be critical to enabling and embedding game-changing technologies to ensure that the current and future technology opportunities for the Defence Information environment are head on.
Service Delivery and Operations is a critical part of the Defence Digital function and is at the heart of designing and delivering the key Digital and IT shared services to military and business users across Defence. It is an organisation with almost 200,000 users, 3,400 staff including military, civil servants and contractors and an annual spend of circa £2.1bn. Reporting directly to the CIO, you will be an integral part of the leadership team, playing a key role in helping to mature and embed the Digital and IT functional strategy.
This is an opportunity to make some of the most complex, enriching and rewarding programmes and changes happen within Government that directly protect and defend our nation and those who live here. So if you are a skilled and influential technology leader experienced at working in organisations of significant scale and complexity and are excited by this unique and career changing opportunity, then find out more by clicking APPLY
