External Train Presentation Operative - Nights

About the role:

At Northern we pride ourselves on the service we deliver to our customers and we strive for excellence. As part of the train presentation/depot support team you will play a vital role in delivering a high cleaning service, to meet the requirements of our customers and other stakeholders. With new carriages, more services and a growing business it is our job to make Northern fit for the future. Daily; we expect you to carry out planned vehicle cleaning on the exterior of our trains to ensure we deliver a clean, presentable and functioning train for our customers. You will also maintain the upkeep of the depot, keeping walkways tidy and clear and undertaking any other work on the depot as required, subject to competence. Additionally, you may be expected to provide support for Train Presentation team as required

About you:

We are looking for highly motivated, reliable, and hardworking individuals to fulfil this role. Your greatest strength will be being part of a team, working to instructions and successfully maintaining high cleaning standards. Applicants should have a keen eye for detail, self-motivated and show initiative in tasks and duties. You will be an excellent communicator who can communicate and work effectively with colleagues and managers.
You should also be able to demonstrate the following:
*A natural pride in your work and an eye for detail
*Awareness of COSHH and basic Health & Safety is desirable, although training will be provided in the necessary safety procedures
*Good team working skills
*Good organisation and ability to adapt to daily changes
*Compliant with rules and regulations have flexibility to work across a number of locations and shift patterns (including evenings and weekends).

Our trains and stations operate 7 days a week across a whole range of different hours early morning and right into the night. So, if your lifestyle enables you to work flexible shifts in line with our customer expectations over an average of 35 hours per week this could be the job for you.

Our training programme:

Through training and continuous development, you will be given the necessary knowledge and skills to deliver the highest of standards, it is therefore essential that you are willing to develop and grow with us. On your first day you will complete a depot safety brief, about the location you will be working at, you will then go on to doing a Personal Track Safety course, if it is necessary. You will learn how we deliver a great customer service to help us build a Railway the North can be proud of.
