About the Job:

As part of the Financial Planning team, you will support the Financial Planning & Analysis Manager in the preparation and presentation of the annual budget / business plan and quarterly forecasts. You will also assist in the production of timely and accurate periodic management accounts and key performance indicators.

Main duties of this role include;

• Consolidation of departmental annual budgets, quarterly forecasts and periodic management accounts
• Preparing reports and analysis to interpret financial performance and reviewing these with the relevant teams
• Working with the Financial Planning team to improve financial performance
• Working with Rail North Partnership / Department for Transport to ensure all financial reporting obligations and deadlines are met  

About you:

To fulfil this role, you’ll need:

• Full professional accounting qualification or working towards one
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
• Experience of at least one integrated accounting system, preferably SAP
