The UKPPS is committed to the protection and care of individuals who are considered by law enforcement agencies to be at risk of serious harm. Whilst we are part of UK policing we work independently of police forces in providing protection arrangements, and concentrate solely on keeping peoples safe and helping to bring offender to justice.

Whilst much of our work centres on protecting those assisting in the fight against Serious and Organised Crime, we can do protect a wide range of people – including the victims of Honour Based Violence.

Key Responsibilities:

Case Management System

• Designing of case management system audit process and implementing robust auditing across the UKPPS
• Manage system administrator in the case management system, creating accounts and system maintenance.
• Maintain system development in conjunction with UKPPS and supplier, coordinating the upgrade programme
• Providing UKPPS resource to support the proposed project implementation of the Financial module, including user liaison and User Acceptance Testing (UAT)

GDPR and Data Protection

• Managing UKPPS GDPR compliance under the guidance of the Information Custodian including;
• Deputising for Information Custodian at meetings, legal consultations and seminars
• Data Protection Impact assessments DPIA 1 & DPIA 2
• Management of compliance of Network drive folder system - centralising the access control of the folders we could prevent breaching the need to know principal and allowing data breaches.
• Management of compliance of secure store/hard copy recording and retention schedules
• Developing policies and procedures to reflect and implement relevant changes.
• Reporting and implementing advice and conducting change management where required
• Freedom of Information and Subject Access Request Coordination

Information Security for Protected Persons

• Manage the security of Protected person derived data and hard copy material, maintaining systems, confidentiality, sensitivity and duty of care principals.

Legacy Case Management Records

• Management of legacy cases from precursor

  • National Insurance Number - Required for monitoring purposes only
  • Good understanding of information technology, including coordination of software updates.
  • Ability to grasp technical Information Technology concepts and use this to inform work.
  • Experience in system administration function for Case Management Systems.
  • Experience in GDPR and understanding of role of Information Custodian.
  • Knowledge of information management principles including data protection impact assessments.
