We are currently looking to recruit 2 Operational Support Officers. One at NCA London and the other in the North either Warrington or East Midlands Office.

Ops support is responsible for the provision of specialist cyber capability and advice to the Cyber ROCU network, NCA Branches and the wider Law Enforcement community as required. It is the primary vehicle for developing and maintaining operational relationships with Team Cyber UK units.

The role sits within the Incident Management and Outreach teams within the National Cyber Crime Unit of NCA. The post holders will be responsible for the provision of tactical advice and support to reactive / pro-active cyber investigations being conducted by UK Law Enforcement Agencies and partners such as ROCUs (Regional Organised Crime Unit) with a national and international reach delivering Criminal justice outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

The successful candidate would:

• Provide specialist tactical and technical investigative advice to stakeholders investigating cybercrime across the UK.
• Use their skills as an experience investigator to ensure that evidence is obtained correctly through the required legal framework (EIO, ILORs, RIPA, PACE etc).
• Work with internal specialist NCCU teams to leverage capability in support of Team Cyber UK investigations.
• Utilise intelligence gathering opportunities to assist ROCUs / NCA to achieve shared objectives.

The successful candidate will need to be experienced in Cyber investigation and intelligence led investigations.

Travel can be expected as part of this role.

Essential Criteria:

• Proven experience of investigating cybercrime.
• Good knowledge of UK and International Legislation affecting Agency activity.
• Extensive experience of partnership working to achieve shared objectives.


• PIP 2 or an equivalent recognised qualification/accreditation issued by a Government body.
• An understanding of NCCU capabilities.

The ideal candidate will hold police powers.
