About the role:

Wardell Armstrong is looking to offer a Graduate Structural Engineer to join its Newcastle office as part of the Civil and Structural Engineering team and assist on a wide range of projects.

You will be expected to assist on a range of projects, at any stage of their development, from conception to completion, and take responsibility for the work you do.

The Civil and Structural Engineering team currently has a wide variety of projects including, housing developments, schools, colleges, industrial and commercial projects, varying from small house extensions to multi-million pound new-build educational developments. The Graduate role specifically relates to the structural engineering and will involve design in concrete, steel, masonry and timber, structural inspections, sketching, drawing and report preparation. In addition, you will be mentored by an experienced engineer and expected to work with other disciplines to help progress the overall project.

About you:

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Graduate Structural engineer who is keen to work in an engineering consultancy environment and looking to achieve chartered status.

- An MSc degree in civil or structural engineering or similar.
- Confident working on their own or as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A good communicator who can collaborate with a variety of colleagues.
- Someone who can analyse problems, create innovative solutions, and sound decisions in a competitive and commercial environment.
- Keen attention to detail and the drive to keep learning.
- Any experience in using structural design software and AutoCAD would be a benefit.
