Head of Threat Response, National Economic Crime Centre

The NCA leads the UK’s fight against serious and organised crime. We lead our own operations, develop and disseminate intelligence to partners, support and coordinate national and international activity. We also provide specialist high-end capabilities to support police and partners in law enforcement.

The National Economic Crime Centre is part of the Prosperity Directorate and is a new and exciting, truly collaborative, multi-agency centre which has been established to deliver a step change in the UK’s response and approach to tackling Serious and Organised Economic Crime (SOEC).

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with experience of economic crime to lead our threat team. The key responsibilities of the role are:
• Provide strategic leadership to the National Economic Crime Centre and partners across law enforcement and private industry by understanding the threat and the capabilities required to respond to it.
• Establishing strong strategic relationships with partners across the economic crime landscape, by building understanding of their capabilities and knowledge and finding opportunities for collaboration.
• Lead the performance of the National Economic Crime Centre, reporting and overseeing law enforcements response to SOEC.

The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of economic crime and excellent knowledge of the UK financial landscape and legislation. You would ideally understand how this applies in the law enforcement arena. You will be a natural planner, able to build relationships with partners across law enforcement, government and private industry and have a strong background in managing and reporting risk.

In order to help potential applicants learn more about the National Crime Agency, and what we do, we will be hosting a number of open evenings at our sites in London and Warrington. You will have the opportunity to hear from some of our senior leadership team, as well as meeting some of our officers already working at Grade 1 level from across our business.
