Edwards has an exciting opportunity for a HR Manager part-time (25hrs per week) based in our Eastbourne site.

Purpose of the role:

To provide high quality HR support to the Eastbourne site, determining and implementing strategic HR plans that underpin Product Company (PC) business plans and ensuring provision of operational HR support as required.

To contribute to the development of the UK wide HR strategy, ensuring that it serves to attract, manage, develop, and retain the employees the business needs to achieve current and future business objectives in a cost-effective way

Main Responsibilities:

Develop strategy

Work in partnership with the Eastbourne GM and leadership team to develop local HR strategy (OGSM) that will meet the objectives of the business and align with global HR strategy covering the following topics:Early careers.Recruitment and selection.Diversity and inclusion.Learning and development.Talent management.Organizational design.

Implementation

Support line management to understand and implement HR strategy, policies, and procedures and to comply with all applicable legislation acting as subject matter expert (SME) for the following business processes:Personal performance development (PPDR).Competence development plans (CDP’s).Performance improvement plans (PiP’s).Annual salary review (ASR).Variable compensation planning.Data compliance and GDPR.HR link, learning link and ezLM.Insight survey.Global mobility.Payroll.

Employee relations

To lead on complex employee relation cases and to support at internal appeal meetings or external tribunals as required

Advice and guidance

Work closely with business leaders and line managers, providing expert HR guidance on the following HR matters:Coaching and mentoring.Development of an employee-oriented culture.Compliance and risk management.Employee relations.

Reporting

To ensure accurate reporting at entity level, divisional level, and business area level in every aspect of people reporting as required by “the way we do things” and other HR initiatives.

Audit and compliance

To be the functional lead for both internal and external audit processes ensuring that any areas of risk are addressed.

Project work

To be involved in wider HR projects either relevant to the Division, UK or more globally, as appropriate, and as directed by the HRBP / VP HR.

To take a lead role in roll out of global HR projects to UK employees as required, in agreement with the HRVP – SV and work in collaboration with the other UK HR Managers where appropriate.

Networking and best practice

To collaborate with other UK HR Managers and members of the global HR team to align ways of working and share best practice across the UK and globally.

To establish and maintain links with external organizations local to the Eastbourne site to support the development of the Edwards/Atlas Copco employer brand.

The Eastbourne site has c190 employees, the HR Manager will have 2-3 direct reportsand reports to the GM of Eastbourne site, with dotted line report to the HRVP.

Skilled and Experience:

Degree or equivalent post-graduate HR qualification (CIPD)

Extensive experience in HR with the majority of that time spent in a generalist role, preferably in a manufacturing organisation.

Experience of dealing with Senior Leadership teams

Up to date knowledge of appropriate employment legislation and evidence of putting employment law knowledge into practice.

Experience of operating a continuously changing and evolving environment.

Experience of supporting/delivering culture change projects

Line management experience.

This role is being offered on a part-time basis of 25hrs per week, over 4 or 5 days and is a 100% office based. Flexible working with core hours is available and the Eastbourne site does a half day on a Friday.
