We’re going through an exciting transformation in CDIO, implementing DevOps people, process and tooling changes on a large scale. This change will impact a wide range of areas within HMRC – our development capability, customers and users will all see the benefits as we move towards a culture where we deliver faster and more reliably. Success means that we drive down costs and move to a far more collaborative and dynamic working environment where we can deliver even more high quality, customer centric services.

As a DevOps Team Lead you will be working within an exciting dynamic driven team who will guide and support the vision for large scale organisational change to enable a sustainable DevOps culture.

You will demonstrate the ability to perform a range of complex work to develop a strategy for specific areas of change across our organisation, which consists of a range of modern and legacy technologies with a blended workforce of circa 4000 Civil Servants and contractors distributed across the country. This will involve project delivery, stakeholder engagement and working closely with both leadership teams and technical teams to enable faster and more reliable IT services to be delivered.

Key Responsibilities:
• Development of high and low level plans
• Engagement with technical delivery teams and key stakeholders
• Design and mapping of financial and non financial benefits
• Production of governance documents and key artefacts, e.g. weekly reports and briefings
• Management of key capability assessment processes for specific delivery groups.
