To promote a flexible workforce, the University will consider applications from individuals seeking full time, part time, job share, or term time only working arrangements.
Aberystwyth University provides Learn Welsh courses in the community, in workplaces and through remote learning, on behalf of the National Centre for Learning Welsh.
This is an opportunity to join a team of tutors, to make a practical contribution to promoting the Welsh language. You will prepare and teach classes on levels that correspond to your experience, and you will have a key role to support learners to complete their courses successfully and to progress to the next level. You will understand how to teach a second language to adults, and you will have the ability to assess learners and to provide feedback to them. You will be able to speak and write fluently in Welsh and English.
Since March 2020, we have provided every course remotely through Zoom. We plan to recommence in person teaching in local communities when the public health situation allows, but we will also continue to teach remote courses on Zoom, as well as some online asynchronous courses. We would be open to receive applications for remote teaching from outside our region. You will teach courses in the North or South Welsh dialect, and it would be advantageous if you were able to teach both courses.
Please note: We will be looking to offer contracts from 1 August 2021 (for courses to start in September) however this will be conditional on grant funding received in the 2021/22 academic year, from the National Centre for Learning Welsh. Your teaching location(s) or remote learning timetable will be agreed with you as we plan the 2021-22 course programme.
