Summary

You will manage a close knit team of subject matter experts in the field of Technical Operations. You will develop strategies to identify emerging technology to either enhance Tech Ops capabilities, or threats to Tech Ops capabilities, and develop strategies, equipment and solutions to counter any technical threat. You will liaise with other National and International Agencies, Academia and Industry to help support your teams activity.

In the Intelligence Directorate we collect, record and enhance intelligence to build a picture of SOC, sharing this with partners in the UK and abroad. Then, through the exploitation of intelligence, we flex law enforcement’s collective resources against these dynamic threats. We are continuously looking for new opportunities to enhance traditional capabilities to increase the quantity and quality of available intelligence and maximise its potential for exploitation.

 

Job description

You will have an extensive background in Technical Operations with knowledge of all elements of Intrusive Operations including TEI capabilities. With this knowledge and experience you will be expected to be the NCA subject matter expert in this area briefing and advising other NCA departments, National and International forums and NCA Investment Boards. You will manage and develop your staff, hold regular team events, keep Tech Ops managers and staff visible of your teams work and strategies. Your team will continue to deliver innovative and cutting edge technical equipment to enhance Operational activity.

Intelligence Collection - coordinates NCA collection capabilities against the Agency’s highest priorities. Intelligence Collection includes forensics, open source, covert human intelligence sources, undercover officers and technical collection capabilities.
 

Responsibilities

On a day to day basis you will be managing the team, based at numerous Tech Ops locations throughout the country, liaise with managers in similar roles, brief senior management on strategies and developments, produce business cases to support RDEL and CDEL projects and requirements and deliver minor projects through recognised project management procedures. You will also be responsible for the Tech Ops Operational and Capital budgets.

Qualifications

The following qualifications/skills are essential to the role and proof will be required at interview:

•College of Policing, MOD/Agency or UKIC accreditation in a covert Technical skill set.
•Qualification in Project Management.
