Medical Information Helpline Advisor (Nurse/Midwife) - Part Time


The award-winning company to work for, AXA Health, is looking for a Nurse / Midwife to join our medical information helpline service, Health at Hand on a part-time (22 hours) basis. You’ll be working a 4-week rota, which will remain the same so you can plan around your hours. Initially, you’ll be working from home, but in the longer term you’ll be able to work flexibly from our modern open plan Tunbridge Wells office too.

The Medical Information Helpline Advisor (Nurse/Midwife) role

In this highly rewarding role, you’ll be working alongside nurses, midwives and pharmacists to provide 24-hour expert medical support and guidance to our members and their families. Reporting to the Clinical Health at Hand Team Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing empathetic guidance and support on a broad range of health-related issues to our members and their families
  • Maintaining our Health at Hand helplines supporting our members and their families on a 24-hour, 365 day per year basis
  • Acting as a clinical expert and role model, to provide specialist knowledge and assistance.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships
  • Taking an active interest in your team, department and the wider business targets and how you can personally contribute to achieve these
  • Taking ownership and continuously developing your professional skills, including enhancement of your clinical knowledge
  • Qualifications

    What we’re looking for

  • Must be a Registered General Nurse (RGN). Additional qualification in Midwifery or Mental Health an advantage
  • Current registration with Nursing Midwifery Council (NMC). Substantive post registration clinical+/- insurance experience
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage and build relationships
  • Computer and social media skills
