What would you be responsible for in this role?
• Interpret business and architectural requirements and drive design of the right
solutions
• Accountability for technical implementation of solutions
• Working alongside the project manager to ensure delivery of projects to time, cost and quality
• Ensuring the project adheres to all technical governance and change control
• Ensures the non-functional requirements are agreed and documented and are clearly accounted for in technical solutions
• Leading technically-driven changes and improvements across a range of network technologies
• Managing technical risks and issues within projects and BAU
• Mentoring /coaching less experienced members of the team where appropriate
• Serve as escalation point of contact for complex LAN, WAN, Wi-Fi and network
security support issues for internal or external customers
• Monitor markets, trends and evolving technology and identify opportunities of future value to the department or company

 

What would we like to see in you?
Covea are looking for candidates with both technical and business focussed leadership skills to help with the design and delivery of the technical roadmap. The ideal candidate should be technically very capable in a range of networking technologies and have vision of how to transform a traditional on premise Data Centre environment to a cloud first software defined model to meet the needs of a digital business. You should be a driven individual, ready to influence project and BAU teams based on your experience, be able to orchestrate changes effectively and champion industry best practice. We are especially keen to hear from candidates who logical, focussed and plan effectively to deliver right first time.

 

Skills/Capabilities

  • Previous demonstrable knowledge and hands on experience to CCNP level (certifications preferable) of working with:

  • Advanced Cisco IOS and NX-OS administration

  • Cisco DNA and ACI

  • F5 load balancer support & configuration

  • Cisco ASA support & configuration

  • Checkpoint FW support & configuration

  • Wi-Fi deployment, configuration and troubleshooting

  • Ability to implement changes effectively

  • Ability to resolve 3rd-line level customer related technical issues quickly and efficiently

  • Experiencing in transforming Data Centre network infrastructure for a cloud centric business

  • Design and deliver solutions to issues and problems that are unique and bespoke

  • Can act as a mentor to junior, less experienced staff

  • Able to deliver results – a self-starter and a finisher

  • Cisco CCNP Enterprise or equivalent

  • Defining technology standards for network deployments

  • Maintain and update a complete documentation set for the network, including Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity plans

 

 

 

Salary:

up to £60,000 DOE
