Part-time Research and Programme Assistant Oxford Department of International Development, 3 Mansfield Road, Oxford Grade 6: £29,176 - £30,942 pro-rata per annum
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Research and Programme Assistant. The post holder will provide research support for The Readymade Garment Productivity project (50% time) and report to and provide general research support to Professor Woodruff (50% time). The post is part-time (50% FTE, 18.75 hours per week) and fixed term until 30th November 2021, with the possibility of extension, starting as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will carry out research and administrative activities with guidance from the PI. This will involve initial proposal reviews and gathering, analysing and summarising qualitative and/or quantitative data. You will undertake literature reviews, writing up the results for an academic audience and potentially for publication. You will also contribute to research publications, book chapters and reviews and discussions with colleagues and research groups.
You should hold a first degree with some relevant experience, possess sufficient specialist knowledge in development economics to understand the work of RMGPP and other research, and to discuss ideas and methods in common use in this discipline. You should be familiar with a range of quantitative research methods and be able to apply them appropriately. You will be able to manage your own research and administrative activities, have excellent communications skills and be able to demonstrate the ability to write text for publishing, present data and take part in research group meetings. You should have experience of following and adapting methodologies.
