The Sports Centre is a dual use facility for both Uppingham School and the local community. As well as providing a first class facility for the School’s pupils, the Centre has been designed to allow increased access by local residents, sports clubs and schools. It includes a sports hall, 25m swimming pool, gym, squash courts and dance studios. The Centre also houses the School’s PE Department and includes a hospitality suite for match-day entertaining. In November 2016, the Centre’s fitness studio was refurbished and supplied with new state-of-the-art fitness equipment creating an enhanced 60 station fitness studio.

Hours: 21.5 hours per week, Sunday 14.00 – 21.15 pm; Wednesday 14.00 – 22.15 pm; Friday 06.45 – 14.15 pm
Salary: £8.21 per hour
Benefits: 25 working days (pro rata). Bank holidays are normal working days and are included in this holiday entitlement except for the Bank Holidays when the Centre is closed (normally Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day). Access to the Uppingham School Group Pension Plan. Employees will be subject to auto-enrolment legislation, but may increase their contribution after a qualifying period, subject to certain criteria. The School will match increased contributions on a 2:1 basis, up to a maximum of 10% contribution by the School.

About the role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a customer focused and experienced administrator who can play a key role managing the reception within our first-class sports centre.
The Receptionist will provide all visitors with a friendly and positive experience, through delivering excellent customer service and maintaining efficiency and accuracy with booking information, cash reconciliation and general administrative duties.
Dealing with all enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.
Actively encouraging and promoting membership of the Sports Centre (under the guidance of the Senior Receptionist).
Promoting activity schemes and current sale offers.
Typing and filing as appropriate.
Signing in and out all contractors and guest visitors.
If you are well organised, IT literate, experienced in a sales environment and have a wide variety of communication skills and the ability to deal with people at all levels we would be delighted to hear from you.
