Returner Placement: Planning Manager

Manchester Airport is the 3rd largest Airport in the UK and is currently undergoing a £1.2 billion expansion programme. The primary role of Border Force is to fulfil national strategic objectives to protect the UK border and national interests, to tackle border tax fraud, smuggling and Immigration crime and to implement fast and fair decisions in a very busy 24/7 environment.

Reporting to the Assistant Director, you will be based within our Command and Control Unit at Manchester International Airport and will head up our Planning Team. You will be responsible for ensuring that our operational staff are deployed appropriately (to threat, risk and demand) across all relevant areas of the Airport, thus ensuring effective Border security.

Key Responsibilities:
- To be part of the Manchester Airport Leadership team.
- To ensure that all operational staff are deployed appropriately to meet the demands of the business within annualised hours working principles, flexible working agreements and reasonable adjustments.
- To forward plan duty rosters and anticipate and predict staffing levels using a range of data sources.
- To be a change manager and to keep the rostering model under constant review, making changes as appropriate.
- To be highly proficient in the use of IT (Microsoft office, windows 10)
- To be an inspiring and engaging leader.
- To effectively lead and manage the Planning Team.
- To produce daily and weekly management information reports and ad hoc reports on request.
