Returner Placement: Safeguarding Caseworker and Administrator

Returner placements will be open to all individuals who have taken time out of work for at least 2 years, or are currently engaged in work that does not make the best use of their skills, competencies and qualifications.

The role of the Band E safeguarding caseworker/administrator is to ensure concerns raised both within the OPG and externally by whistleblowers, about the way in which deputies and attorneys are exercising their powers are correctly identified, categorised and then prioritised and resolved promptly and effectively in conjunction with colleagues, partners and other agencies as appropriate; (consulting your team leader when necessary to minimise safeguarding delays)

The safeguarding caseworker/administrator will ensure the right information is sought, shared or provided at the right time, from the right place and in the most appropriate format, to best safeguard people who may be vulnerable to abuse building on existing data sharing protocols, administrative processes and internal communication frameworks.

A safeguarding caseworker/administrator will also be required to undertake administrative tasks associated with safeguarding data capture, in support of statistical reporting and retention of information and to be open to and contribute to continuous improvement activity aimed at further enhancing the way we safeguard adults at risk.

This role requires the jobholder to undertake the most appropriate and timely action to safeguard an adult at risk; this may involve making
telephone calls to external parties and participating in case reviews and discussions.
