About the role:
Our client’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition. They have reached more than 2.8 million people with the programme, but there is still a long way to go to ensure that everyone affected by dementia feels fully accepted and supported and able to live the lives they want to live.
The role will be part of their Community Engagement team striving to create a society where people with dementia have equal access to services, are socially included and engaged in communities without stigma or isolation. They will feel fully accepted, supported and empowered to live the lives they want to lead.
The Senior Dementia Friends Regional Officer for South West England, plays a key role in the growth of their awareness raising of Dementia to address the stigma people face. Not only will you be line managing up to 3 people to deliver regional activity, but you will also be responsible for around 800 Dementia Friends Champions within the South West Region. As well as supporting their volunteers, you’ll get a chance to develop your skills by getting involved in all sorts of projects. From evaluation, to resource development, and representing them at the odd music festival!
