Senior Private Sector Partnerships Specialist

The role of Senior Corporate Fundraiser is to identify, engage and secure new corporate partnerships across three core programmatic priority areas. You will work closely with the Head of team to deliver the PSPE strategy, using your expertise in building corporate partnerships to help imbed a private-sector approach into proposals.

ActionAid is an international charity that works with women and girls living in poverty. Our dedicated local staff are changing the world with women and girls. We are ending violence and fighting poverty so that all women, everywhere, can create the future they want.

Private Sector Partnerships & Engagement (PSPE) is an ambitious team within ActionAid, created to establish collaborative working relationships with the business sector to help realise our broader mission of creating a gender-just world.

The team develops long-term, multi-channel corporate partnerships which help to achieve strategic goals across fundraising, advocacy and programmes. The team focuses on the UK market, but works collaboratively at a global level to leverage multi-country partnerships which take full advantage of ActionAid’s global influence and local presence.

Key relationships will be with the Strategic Funding & Insight team, alongside whom you will develop proposals and manage grants, Technical experts, who will help imbed the ActionAid approach into partnerships, and Fundraisers from country offices, with whom you will hold a direct relationship to facilitate cross-border prospecting, engagement and partnership-working.

The Senior Corporate Fundraiser will commit to adopting a Digital First approach to fundraising and will be able to work effectively both as an individual and as a remotely-based global team.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience of securing 6-figure corporate partnerships, and will have a good understanding of sustainability trends in development and what this might mean for an INGO like ActionAid.

You will have proven experience of successfully building rapport with individuals and companies to develop donor relationships, especially those at a senior level in the business world.  With proven ability to articulate complex issues in a simple, compelling and persuasive manner, you will be able to chair meetings with confidence, leading to significant funds being secured. You will have strong negotiating and influencing skills and the ability to ‘close the deal’.

Entrepreneurial, innovative and ambitious, you will be target driven with experience of working collaboratively across departments to ensure maximum benefit from partnerships and internal buy in.

Polished writing skills, with experience of adapting the style of writing for a range of different communications are also key requirements.

Experience of developing or managing NGO/Business partnerships would be desirable.

If you have this skill set, along with a passion to work for an organisation committed to improving the lives of women and girls living in poverty, this may be the role for you.

ActionAid is passionate about supporting flexible working. If you would like to discuss flexible working options, there will be space to do so during the interview process.
