The role – Senior Procurement Officer


Exciting times at Nexus means we are recruiting a Senior Procurement Officer.  This is a new position created to ensure the efficient and effective delivery of an inventory and procurement service across a range of high value, complex procurement activities in compliance with Public and European Procurement Legislation. 


The role will be part of the wider Corporate Procurement team based across three sites, reporting to the Corporate Procurement Manager. 


The person


You will be a team player, contributing to the overall success of the department, liaising with internal and external stakeholders to ensure efficient and compliant inventory and procurement service provided.


You will ideally be educated to degree level in an appropriate discipline, with MCIPS qualification (or working towards the qualification) being able to demonstrate previous practical experience in a procurement position.

You will have strong communication, negotiation and line management skills with the ability to work to tight deadlines providing positive support and guidance on inventory and procurement processes. Candidates must demonstrate practical experience leading tender opportunities and the development of procurement documentation. Knowledge of construction type contracts such as NEC3, JCT, MF1 would be advantageous.
