Position Summary

We have a fantastic opportunity to join the THub team as a Senior Transport Optimiser

We manage the transport of intermarket flows between Nestlé‘s European factories and distribution centres, as well as inbound raw and packaging materials from our major suppliers where opportunity arise

A day in the life of a Senior Transport Optimiser

The Senior Transport Optimiser role has two  main functions:-

Firstly, you will be responsible for ensuring all demand received from our customer markets is planned correctly through the system in a timely manner and work across operational, market and continuous improvement project teams to improve flow and minimise waste in how we do this.

Secondly, you will play a key role in the onboarding of new markets and implementation of key strategic activities for the Hub. You’ll provide operational insight combined with system and process knowledge which in collaboration with our partners allow us to develop sustainable ways of working and bring these into the existing operation.

As the Senior Transport Optimiser you will be the first contact in the team to manage escalations and you’ll lead operational meetings within the team and markets using NCE methodology.

Key responsibilities will include:-

  • Co-ordinating activities within the team to eliminate unplanned orders and drive productivity improvements through automated planning.
  • Working across market, operational and technical teams to improve data accuracy and alignment across multiple sources
  • Identifying opportunities to improve load utilisation as well supporting the ongoing activities to establish dedicated capacity routes and inbound/outbound linkage opportunities.
  • Undertake the role of being operational escalation point of contact for market planning enquiries.
  • Work with procurement and markets to support onboarding of new carriers and solutions
What will make you successful

You’ll have Logistics experience ideally with international or domestic transport operations knowledge and an understanding of Supply Chain end to end processes. You’ll be an analytical thinker, exploring KPIs and reports to drive efficiency. Your continuous improvement mind-set and problem-solving approach will be key to success in this role.

You’ll have effective communication and influencing skills along with the ability to manage stakeholders enabling you to maintain a healthy working relationship with customers within the market supply chain teams.
