Support Worker

We are the UK's leading dementia charity. We provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia.

Position: Dementia Support Worker
Location: Havering
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent
Hours: 23.5 per week
Salary: £16,378 actual per annum

About the role:

You will join the new Havering Dementia Support Service, providing support, information and advice for people affected by dementia. You will be part of delivering our new and exciting Dementia Connect Model, and will have the remit of supporting people, but also to develop and improve links with GP surgeries and other local partners.

About you:

Could you help people with dementia improve their sense of wellbeing and support them to take more control of their lives? Are you committed to ensuring that everyone affected by dementia can access our services? Can you navigate your way around local and national support services to ensure that those you are working with have access to the support they need? If this sounds like you, then you will also need empathy, good time management skills to manage a caseload, record your interactions and work to a high standard.

You will also be building networks and partnerships with other providers to help facilitate the best support available and you will be actively engaged in gathering feedback from service users to evaluate services.
