Our client is the UK's leading dementia charity. They provide information and support, improve care, fund research, and create lasting change for people affected by dementia. 

Position: Dementia Support Worker 
Location: Chelmsford 
Contract type: Part Time, Permanent 
Hours: 25 per week 
Salary: £14,532 actual per annum

About the role: 

Working across GP surgeries, other health provider and community venues, this role will raise awareness of dementia, to identify the needs of people pre-diagnosis and then provide support for people to obtain a diagnosis. 

The post holder will work with GP’s, and health providers in the Mid Essex area to raise awareness of dementia, local services and how to become a dementia friendly provider, through Dementia Friends sessions and working through the process of becoming dementia friendly provider. 

The role also involves setting up and maintaining existing dementia clinics in local surgeries, to provide direct dementia support to people affected by dementia. 

About you: 

We are looking for an individual who possess NVQ level 3 (or equivalent) with an understanding of dementia and the needs of those living with dementia and their carers. 

Your ability to assess client needs along with the understanding of the need for client confidentially is essential to providing a valuable and worthwhile service. 

To be successful in this role you will have excellent non-judgmental communication skills as well as strong organisational and time management skills. This role involves regular use of IT packages, therefore a good standard of IT would be desirable.
