Support Worker/Carer - Full or Part Time (Long Melford)


Job Description


Our team here at the Lifeways Group are to looking to recruit full and part time support workers in the Long Melford area of Sudbury.

We don’t require experience as full training is provided but we are looking for enthusiastic and self-motivated individuals who want to make a difference to the lives of the people we support, skills needed include:

Customer service skills, a willingness to learn, understanding of the needs of others, patience and most importantly you must want to assist the people we support by enabling them to live as independently as possible.

We require dedicated Individuals to work in our residential services supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and autistic spectrum disorders, complex needs, mental health issues and challenging behaviours in all aspects of their daily lives.

Each person we support has their own self-contained room within the service buildings.

There is also a communal lounge area to meet up and chat with others in as well as a garden to relax in the summer months and do a spot of gardening where preferred.

You will support service users with all sorts of different activities including swimming, shopping, going for a coffee, going to the cinema, visiting zoos, clubs etc., so your work will be varied from day to day

You will also be expected to assist the people we support with general household chores such as cooking and laundry and housework such as hoovering and dusting and in some cases personal care. No two days are the same in this role, you will have the opportunity to assist someone else broaden their horizons and experiences whilst doing the same for you.

  • Full time 35 hours per week
  • Part-time 14 – 28 hours per week
  • Sessional/Bank hours also available
