You will join us as a Therapeutic Residential Support Worker to provide therapeutic residential care for males aged between 11-18 years who have difficulties related to attachment and developmental trauma, and who have perpetrated sexually harmful behaviour.
Therapeutic Residential Support Worker Responsibilities:
- Meeting the emotional, physical and developmental needs of the children and young people.
- Enabling children and young people to reduce risk of perpetrating further sexual harm and develop social and emotional skills.
- Acting as a Key Worker for a named child.
- Working to a shift pattern including weekends and sleeping in duties.
- Working in line with The Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015.
Therapeutic Residential Support Worker Requirements:
Successful applicants will display a positive and resilient attitude. They will act as a role model to the children and young people and will uphold clear and consistent boundaries. They will display empathy, creativity and a sense of fun; and will have good written and verbal communication skills.
SWAAY is a specialist provider of therapeutic care for adolescent males who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour. Based in the Thames Valley, we work with 10-21 year olds who have engaged in inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviour and who have often suffered multiple forms of trauma themselves. SWAAY provides all-encompassing, 52 week care, education and therapy for the young people placed in our residential service as well as outreach therapeutic services to young people who reside in the community.
SWAAY is committed to safeguarding children. This position is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance, satisfactory references and a health check.
Location: Reading & Bracknell
Job type: Full Time, Permanent, 150 hours per month - shift patterns are typically 3pm to 11pm during term or 10am to 11pm (plus sleep-in shifts). A High level of flexibility is required for shift work.
Salary: £19,500 - £25,800 per annum (OTE including Sleep in's) - based on experience and qualifications
