The University of Cambridge is seeking an experienced, knowledgeable and committed individual to join the University's Sustainability Team as a Transport Advisor relating to strategic transport projects.
The Transport Advisor will be responsible for engaging widely with partner organisations including Greater Cambridge Partnership, Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority, Cambridge Ahead and Network Rail in relation to a range of strategic projects in the Cambridge area. These projects include Cambourne to Cambridge and Cambridge South East public transport improvements, as well as Cambridge South Railway Station and strategic cycling projects such as the Greenways network.
The role-holder will co-ordinate consultation responses, maintain strong relationships with the partners, and will communicate across the University to update and engage as widely as possible to ensure the very best outcomes for the University in respect to its strategic objectives around sustainable transport, spatial planning and carbon reduction.
Candidates should have excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, a broad knowledge of transport and should be able to confidently communicate information to a wide range of people in a variety of formats including written reports, briefing notes, verbal updates and presentations. A flexible approach is needed, and there is a requirement to work some evenings and the occasional weekend in order to fully engage in consultation activity, workshops and meetings.

The successful applicant will be required to work flexibly for 25 hours per week. The precise working pattern will be agreed with the Head of Sustainability on appointment.
