About the job

Please see the candidate information pack for more detail.

The UK Protected Persons Service provides authorised protection to individuals judged to be at risk of serious harm. The NCA host the UKPPS Central Services Unit, which is the national coordination centre of the UKPPS. At present, UKPPS operational activity is delivered through the Regional Organised Crime Units and the NCA’s Central Operations Unit. However, on 1 April 2019, the UK Protected Persons Service will be forming a national unit under NCA management. (The Metropolitan Police Service and Police Scotland will remain aligned to the service.)

Within Regional Operations there are two G4 role profiles: one will hold NCA Powers and will not hold NCA Powers. Merit lists will be formed for each separate role to allow suitable posting processes to take place. Candidates are advised that they request to be on both lists should they meet the essential criteria for that particular role.

• To develop, implement, maintain and review bespoke protective measure packages for designated Protected Persons cases.
