About the role:
If you have snuggled up on a Next sofa recently, chances are it has been made by our brilliant team in Doncaster. In a bid to offer an even faster service to our Next customers, we have hand crafted furniture in house since 2016.
Working in our brand new purpose built sewing room, equipped with state of the art facilities, you’ll play a hands-on role in developing our new Cut & Sew Department. As part of a small, dedicated team of sewing machinists you will be a team player who is passionate about their work. Working with over 100 different fabrics available on over 100 style and size combinations, you will enjoy working in a fast paced, varied environment where no day is ever the same!
As a Sewing Machinist, you will have experience of various sewing techniques, ideally lockstitch, overlock and topstitch using industrial machinery. You will be responsible for creating entire covers from start to finish, so will have a keen eye for detail and previous experience of quality checking your own work against pattern instructions, adapting and repairing fabric cuts as and when required.
If you are not familiar with Upholstery or have only ever worked with garments, don’t worry as full training will be provided to bring you up to speed.
