Veterinary Receptionist, (part-time)

  • Established in Barnard Castle for over 70 years, Castle Veterinary Surgeons has evolved from a traditional Dales practice into two speciality areas, focusing on farm animals and pets thereby remaining capable of dealing with virtually everything the domestic animal world presents. Our modern facilities are purpose built which provides our excellent staff with the best possible work environment. 

    As a Receptionist you will assist in the day to day running of the veterinary practice. In this role you will be welcoming arrivals, handling queries, booking appointments, dealing with cancellations as well as other general receptionist duties. 

    You must be resourceful, perceptive and proactive. Experience of working within a veterinary practice is essential.

    The successful candidate will be efficient, an extremely good communicator, a team player and not overwhelmed by a busy and demanding reception desk. 

    We are looking for someone with the confidence, empathy and experience to provide the high standards of care and the personal touch we expect for our clients. 

    In this position you will be working 25 hours a week with 1:2 Saturday mornings. Details of the full rota will be discussed at the interview.

    You will need to have:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Basic computer literacy.
