We have an exciting opportunity for an Applications Group Manager, to join our team based in Nestlé Waters. The position could be based from either Gatwick or Buxton but travel will be required to both sites regularly.

During 2012, we’ve developed a state-of-the-art production facility in Buxton and we have centred there our ensuring supply operations. This is a pivotal role to lead the Health & Safety culture, not only within the factory and supply chain, also covering the Market Head Office in Gatwick. 

Manufacturing in Nestlé is all about ensuring the consumer receives a perfect quality product, at the right time and place whilst driving losses from our business in order to maximise efficiency & productivity.

A day in the life of an Applications Group Manager


In this exciting and innovative role, you will be tasked with developing and introducing new products and processes across the Nestlé Waters business in the UK. This will involve you liaising with colleagues in other European factories, our commercial teams and our Regional Team to execute projects and improve our ways of working.

You will be working multi-functionally on projects and will get the opportunity to work all our brands including Sanpellegrino, Perrier, Buxton and Nestlé Pure Life.

Some other key responsibilities of this role will include:


•    Implementing the Nestlé Waters UK packaging roadmap.
•    Lead major product development projects from concept to industrialisation within multi-disciplined project teams.
•    Work with Category and Marketing teams on the Business and New Product Development strategy, understand future requirements and work with Technical and Supply Chain to execute 
•    Contribute towards significant investment projects in the factory.
•    Project Management/Technical lead within third party suppliers/co-manufacturers.
•    Assist factories and commercial team to provide them with services necessary to ensure product & process mastership.
•    Ensure Nestlé standard and compliance is adhered to across projects from Auditing suppliers, managing data of specification to vendor management.


The role will report to the Buxton Factory Manager and will form part of the operations leadership team on site. This is an exciting opportunity to lead through change and progress your career.

The person that will be successful in this role will have experience of working in a fast-paced, complex, manufacturing environment within a technical role, you could a packaging specialist looking for your next step or a expert looking to broaden your skill set. 


Other key attributes are:

•    Degree / Diploma in a Scientific or Engineering discipline
•    Evidence of the ability to lead projects from concept to launch in a fast paced environment
•    Continuous Improvement knowledge and experience 
•    Experience in R&D positions where you work with both technical and commercial teams.
•    Demonstrate project management skills
•    Ability to motivate, influence, challenge and coach people as they work.
•    Passionate for our products, consumers and category.
•    You will be a credible, approachable and strong character – able to gain the buy in of key stakeholders on site and across the wider business and flex your style depending on the audience.
