We are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our finance team. This is a varied role supporting day-to-day financial operations across multiple entities, including purchase and sales ledger, reconciliations, and month-end processes. You’ll also assist with management accounts, VAT returns, and year-end audits, helping to maintain accurate records and improve financial controls.
Key Responsibilities
- Process purchase ledger transactions and manage supplier payments
- Handle expenses and company credit card transactions
- Raise invoices, process receipts, and support credit control
- Perform reconciliations and assist with month-end close
- Prepare VAT returns and support management accounts
- Contribute to process improvements and system changes
About You
- Previous experience in an all-round finance role
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, SUMIFS)
- Positive, can-do attitude and excellent communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
Desirable:
- AAT qualified or working towards ACA/CIMA (or QBE)
- Familiarity with Xero or similar accounting software
