Business Development Executive

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a highly driven business development executive to join our team in Q Underwriting in Chelmsford. 

You will be confident, have a professional telephone manner and have the ability to work under pressure to ensure targets are met.

You will need to assist in development of brokers via telemarketing, to generate leads, increase awareness of product range, build a database of ‘broker insight’, chase and convert quotes and identify potential / opportunities for Q Underwriting and other areas of PIB Group Wholesale.  

Although this role is Chelmsford based it can be considered to offer this role with Hybrid working arrangements after a qualifying period.
 
Responsibilities: 
  • Lead Generation - Developing leads from existing brokers and identifying new brokers in the market that match our underwriting appetite.
  • Broker Insight - Building a database of insight into our existing brokers.
  • Quote Chasing: - Following up on quotes on behalf of underwriters across Q-Underwriting.
  • Development - Identifying broker potential and reactivating dormant accounts.
  • Finding cross-sell opportunities for other parts of PIB Group and following up on marketing campaigns, initiatives and insurance events.
  • Organising and attending meetings with my account leads to maintain relationships and to always ensure they are satisfied with our services and products offered.
  • Growing panel of brokers – Engaging with a selected panel of brokers every 6-8 weeks to build rapport and speak of the key products Q can offer. This in turn will generate new business presentations which is then forwarded to the correct underwriting teams across the brand.
 
Experience:
  • An understanding of the insurance industry is a bonus however if you are keen to pursue a career within the sector consideration will be given as full training provided 
  • You will be able to manage stakeholders at all levels, having a personable approach, and ability to build excellent rapport as well as providing a quality service.
  • You will be able to multi-task, with excellent levels of organisation and time management skills, and display a high level of attention to detail.
  • You will be fully proficient in MS Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
  • You have highly developed communication skills (both verbal and written).
