About The Role

We’re looking for a Finance Advisor – Commercial to join our Finance Operations team at our Head Office in Bradford. This role assists in the completion and analysis of the billed commercial income, including the creation of reporting and liaison across the commercial function to provide analysis on progress. This role is crucial to ensure that the business is receiving the income for promotional deals and over rider activity has been recorded for revenue recognition. You must possess the ability to manage the workload across a diverse team that is fragmented due to presence both on and off shore. There is a proportion of the role, approx 40% that will require deep dive investigation in order to drive future business decisions and aid in root cause analysis. 


As a Finance Advisor - Commercial you’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Assist with financial reporting on both a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Suggest continuous improvement ideas to ensure that stakeholders’ requirements are fully met and /or exceeded
  • Retain a customer focus through daily routines
  • Participate in projects, providing support for improving business processes and procedures.
  • Provide financial information as required.
  • Take responsibility for cultivating positive working relationships with key business stakeholders and finance department peers.

  • Ensure the application of operational and financial controls.
  • Conduct processing activities in line with your specific role requirements.
  • Review, complete and achieve a defined number of interactions in line with guidance.
  • Produce meaningful commentary to invoice level detail to ensure messages to the wider business are both accurate and timely.  
  • Provide variance analysis and trending techniques
  • Generate ideas for improvement in line with the task specific areas of your role.
About You

You'll ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced Excel experience 
  • Oracle experience
  • Basic SQL knowledge
  • Previous experience of operating in a Finance function / environment.
  • Experience of using google sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of delivering to deadlines
  • Well organised, with high levels of quality and accuracy in their work. 
  • Strong attention to detail and be flexible in approach. 
  • Good communicator, dealing with a variety of people including own team and key internal and external contacts. 
  • Must have a proactive approach and the drive to resolve issues. 
  • Must be competent on excel, with the ability to handle challenges with a ‘can do attitude’

New Ways of Working

The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.

You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.

To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
