About The Role

We’re looking for x2 Finance Operations Assistants - Commercial to join our Finance Operations team at our Head Office in Bradford. The role will specifically support our commercial function, through process and system constraints to maximise the accuracy of commercial income


As a Finance Operations Assistant you’ll be responsible for the following:

  • Assist with financial reporting on both a regular and ad hoc basis.
  • Suggest continuous improvement ideas to ensure that stakeholders’ requirements are fully met and /or exceeded
  • Retain a customer focus through daily routines
  • Participate in projects, providing support for improving business processes and procedures.
  • Provide financial information as required.
  • Take responsibility for cultivating positive working relationships with key business stakeholders and finance department peers.
  • Drive own development
  • Display the Morrisons Ways of Working
  • Ensure the application of operational and financial controls.
  • Conduct processing activities in line with your specific role requirements.
  • Review, complete and achieve a defined number of interactions in line with guidance.
  • Produce meaningful commentary to invoice level detail to ensure messages to the wider business are both accurate and timely. 
  • Provide variance analysis and trending techniques
  • Generate ideas for improvement in line with the task specific areas of the role.
About You

You'll ideally have the following skills and experience:

  • Preferably experience of operating in a Finance function / environment.
  • Previous experience of using google sheets or Microsoft Excel
  • Experience of delivering to deadlines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong data processing ability
  • Proficient analytical and numerical skills
  • Ability to build good relationships and deliver excellent customer service every day
  • Self-motivated and enthusiastic
  • Good verbal communication skills, ability to articulate self clearly

New Ways of Working

The wellbeing of our colleagues is really important to us and we want everyone to have a great home and work life balance. Because of this we've introduced a four day working week for all full time colleagues based at our head office in Bradford.

You’ll be able to flex your working hours around the core hours of 10am-4pm, and can choose to do different hours each day as long as you’re covering these core hours. Each four day week will contain four average nine hour days.

To be more competitive and support our stores and sites more effectively, we now work over a six day operation, Monday to Saturday inclusive, and everyone in our head office now works one Saturday in every four (or 13 a year), albeit Saturday will be a shorter working day of 6 hours.
